We are pleased to announce the availability of Sun Ray Software 5.2. This new release provides customers with a greater ease of deployment, a richer multimedia experience, enhanced audio capabilities, and Sun Ray Client operating software enhancements.

Sun Ray Software 5.2 includes the following enhancements:

• Simplified installation and deployment
• Integrated installer allows Sun Ray Software (which includes components formerly known as Sun Ray Software Server (SRSS), Sun Ray Connector for Windows OS (SRWC), Sun Ray Connector for VMware View Manager (SRVC), and PC/SC-Lite) to be downloaded and deployed in one, easy-to-install package.
• Ability to clone Sun Ray Software servers from a template.
• Richer multimedia experience
• Delivers smoother Windows Media Player experience on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 through client acceleration for video and audio streams.
• Optimizes multimedia delivery to the local client to provide enhanced network utilization and scalability.
• Real-time audio
• ALP dynamically optimizes audio channels to meet application demands, improving audio quality and reducing network bandwidth usage by up to 92%.
• USB headset support
• Support for specific headset devices from leading providers: Logitech, Jabra, and Plantronics.
• Oracle Solaris IPMP support for greater resiliency
• Enables customers to leverage Oracle Solaris 10 IP Mulitpathing (IPMP) for network fault tolerance and load spreading.
• Sun Ray Client operating software enhancements
• Support for smart cards that operate at the ISO-7816 defined voltages of 1.8 V (Class C) and 3 Volts (Class B), in addition to 5 Volts (Class A) that is already supported with previous releases.
• Support for Cisco VPN with hybrid authentication.
